Reverend Cheri Metier
Rev. Cheri Metier is an ordained minister through the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and has dual standing with the United Church of Christ. She attended San Francisco Theological Seminary for a year and completed her Master of Divinity at Lexington Theological Seminary. Pastor Cheri also has a teaching credential and B.A. in Political Science from CSU, San Bernardino.
Her call to ministry is to inspire and equip Kindom builders and is delighted to be able to partner with the members and friends of First Congregational Church of Perris, United Church of Christ as they journey together towards new and deeper faith to "Be the Church" throughout the Perris Valley and beyond. Pastor Cheri has a big heart for social justice for all people and lives this out in her other position as Executive Director of Interfaith Worker Justice of San Diego County.
|Rev. Cheri believes and teaches that "Living out our Christian values of love of God and neighbor is the mission of God’s Church for every time and place. We are God’s revelation for such a time as this. Love and compassion for every person, regardless of faith, politics, race, nationality, gender identity, sexual orientation, primary language or other ways humans differentiate is the heart of this revelation. Christians are instructed to be co-creators with God until the brokenness of this world is healed and justice is the standard and peace prevails – ‘Thy Kindom Come’."
Rev. Metier is a born and raised southern Californian. She and her wife, Lorraine, live in San Diego with their 3 dogs, 2 cats and 2 turtles. They have two adult children, John and Ariel, who also live in SoCal.

Reverend Brenda Hunt
Reverend Hunt was first licensed as clergy in the Metropolitan Community Churches (MCC) in August of 1976. Upon completing further educational requirements she was ordained in January of 1980. She graduated from Samaritan Theological Seminary and went on to graduate studies at United Seminary. Later she served as an adjunct supervisor in the Field Study Program for "middler-year" students at Dayton United Seminary.
She served in the MCC’s in Detroit MI, Baton Rouge LA, Forth Worth TX and Windsor Ontario Canada. She served as District Coordinator of the Great Lakes district and on Clergy Credential and Care Committee as chair of subcommittee on Standards.
She is comfortable with inner faith as well as ecumenical settings, while known for her energetic and engaging manner of preaching. She lives in Sun City with her life partner Teri Trombley. Brenda first attended Perris First Congregational Church with her parents Bob and Norma Bartleson and attended regularly when visiting with her parents.
